Quote:

Dan bahkan hewan ini termasuk "Top New Species 2010" versi International Institute for Species Exploration..

Nih Videonya cuma semenit.. lucu gan, loncat2 gitu kyk kodok...

Spoiler for Commerson's Frogfish:

Antennarius commersoni, resting on a jetty piling; Ambon, Indonesia

Commerson's frogfish, Antennarius commersoni, is one of the largest members of the frogfish family, reaching close to 30cm in length. It's color pattern is highly variable, tending to blend in with its present surroundings. (Lembeh Strait, Indonesia)

An all-black Commerson's (or giant) frogfish, Antennarius commersoni moving from one piling to another, beneath a jetty. Frogfish are poor swimmers, and may use a combination of tail flapping from side to side and "jet propulsion" (shooting swallowed water out backward through their narrow gill openings) to move slowly through the water. (Ambon, Indonesia)

Antennarius commersoni. Found under a jetty, this individual blended in so well with surrounding sponges, bryozoans, corals and hydroids, so as to become almost invisible. (Ambon, Indonesia)

Spoiler for Warty Frogfish:

Antennarius maculatus, Komodo, Indonesia. The lure of this species resembles a small fish.

Antennarius maculatus; these two are probably a mated pair; the female is usually larger than her mate. (Komodo, Indonesia)

Spoiler for Striated Frogfish:

A white striated frogfish (Antennarius striatus) with its lure partially deployed. (Alor, Indonesia)

Spoiler for Painted Frogfish:

Antennarius pictus; Lembeh Strait, northern Sulawesi, Indonesia

Painted frogfish (Antennarius pictus); Alor, Indonesia

Spoiler for Hairy Frogfish:

Juvenile "hairy" frogfish (Antennarius striatus) wiggling its distinctive lure in front of its head (Ambon, Indonesia)

The striated frogfish, Antennarius striatus, has a predilection for growing long skin filaments to aid in its disguise. (Lembeh Strait, Sulawesi, Indonesia)

Spoiler for Yawning Frogfish:

This striated or "hairy" frogfish (Antennarius striatus) has its mouth stretched wide open in a "yawn". One theory is that yawning improves oxygenation of the gills in sedentary fish. (Lembeh Strait, Indonesia)

Spoiler for Mated Frogfish Pair:

A red male hairy frogfish (Antennarius striatus) is sitting alongside his much larger mate. She is ready to lay eggs, and has attracted the male by releasing pheromones. Female frogfish are usually larger than their mates. (Alor, Indonesia)
